SOUTH FLORIDA FALL SEASON EVENTS
Wednesday, November 12, 2008
In South Florida our weather is starting to change as well, although more subtly, but my kids are equally if not more enthusiastic about this time of year as I am. They love everything about the fall, especially Halloween.
For the past 3 years they have headed up to Orlando to Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights (www.halloweenhorrornights.com) with my husband, Phil and a couple of friends each. This year was no exception. Universal closes the park early and turns it into a large haunted house with scare zones and scare houses. This year’s theme was Bloody Mary. Phil and the kids had a blast!
We live in Hollywood, FL, which is conveniently located between Miami and Ft. Lauderdale and there are tons of free fall events coming up which I am looking forward to attending!
There will be a Hollywood West concert series the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month held at the Boulevard Heights Amphitheatre and a Halloween concert by Sundown on Hollywood Beach at Johnson Street Theatre on the Broadwalk on Wednesday, October 29th from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Finally, on Halloween there will be a Boo Bash at Arts Park at Young Circle in Hollywood from 7:30 p.m.-10:00 pm. with safe trick or treating for kids, a costume contest and a Halloween concert by The Monsters.
So wherever you are living I would encourage you to find out what is going on in your town at this time of year. For more information about Hollywood Fall Season events please call 954-921-3404 or visit www.hollywood.fl.org/parks.
Check out what is happening in your Ft. Lauderdale neighborhood by visiting the community calendar (link to the community calendar) and seeing everything that is going on.
