After a day at the beach or strolling along the boardwalk, there are plenty of fine eateries and restaurants for the hungry visitor to Hollywood Beach. Sample local Florida seafood at Billy’s Stone CrabsOcean Alley Restaurant, and Sugar Reef Tropical Grill. Or, try a burger at Le Tub or Vedu’s Fish and Burger Shack. There’s also Beachside Café and for Greek and Mediterranean cuisine Taverna Opa is a local favorite. There are many other Oceanside dining options in Hollywood Beach for locals and visitors to relax and enjoy the view.

Parks and Recreation

Biking, nature trails, ocean front parks, farmers markets, open air theaters and of course, beach activities are just a few of the many recreation options at Hollywood Beach. Joggers, bicyclists, and roller-bladers glide along the brick-paved boardwalk and families spend a day at North Beach Park snorkeling, boating or fishing. Another great place to visit is The Anne Kolb Nature Center which boasts 1500 acres of wetlands and natural areas including nature trails and fishing. No fossil-fueled boats are allowed at this local natural resource. Golfers have plenty of options as Hollywood is home to many world-class golf clubs and resorts.

Nearby is Gulfstream Park, which features horse racing, a casino, shopping and dining, entertainment and more. The Village at Gulfstream Park is South Florida's newest outdoor shopping and entertainment destination.

A perfect way to enjoy Florida's sunshine is with a round of golf. The Diplomat Resort and Spa offers an 18-hole championship course. But golf isn't all you'll find at The Diplomat - a 10 court tennis facility, outdoor pool, and luxurious spa is sure to keep you feeling pampered.

With close proximity to the Port Everglades there are opportunities to take day cruises or a longer cruise on one of the many cruise ships which visit this area.

Spend an evening at the Hollywood Beach Theater for open-air dances, movies, and plays. There are also a variety of shops and eateries here to explore before or after an event.

With a relatively low crime rate and diverse population, Hollywood, Florida has seen increased growth over the years with people looking for ocean-side homes and access to Florida’s larger cities. Private and parochial schools include Nativity Elementary, Chaminade Madonna College Prep (both Roman Catholic schools), Sheridan Hills Christian School, and Hollywood Christian School. For higher education, Sheridan Technical Center and Broward College are nearby in Fort Lauderdale. Business schools like DeVry University and the University of Phoenix are located in the surrounding communities. For 4-year or graduate degrees Miami offers a wealth of choices.

For medical needs, the Memorial Regional Hospital serves the Hollywood area along with the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and Kindred Hospitals of South Florida, a long term, acute care facility.

Getting to Hollywood Beach is easy and just a short drive from one of two airports. The Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport is only 10 miles away and Miami International Airport only 25 minutes away. The Florida Turnpike and Interstate 95 are the main North/South arteries running through Hollywood. Tri-Rail offers commuter trains to South Florida and the Hollywood Trolley serves the Hollywood Beach and down areas.
