Real Estate Group Collects Toys to Benefit Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center
(Miami, FL – December, 2011) – The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals® (NAHREP) hosted a community event Saturday, Dec. 10th, to collect gifts and toys for the Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center for Women and Children. The First Annual Family Picnic & Toy Drive was a huge success, garnering enough gifts to ensure the organization’s residents will have a very happy holiday season.
The Susan B. Anthony Recover Center is one of only a few residential treatment facilities that allows families to remain together while mothers learns the skills they need to battle addiction and lead drug-free lives.
“This organization gives families an opportunity to stay and grow together,” said Ellen Mitchel, Co-Owner of RE/MAX Executive Realty and the 2011 Director of Broward Board of Governors. Mitchel worked with others to organize the co-sponsored event. “The need is certainly great this year and we as a community, have many opportunities to help our friends and neighbors. We took the initiative to organize this event for a very worthy cause and we’re pleased that we were able to collect so many gifts.”
For just $10 and one unwrapped gift, picnic goers enjoyed a barbeque, bounce house, slide, pony rides, a clown, face painting and games for all ages. The event was co-sponsored by several local groups including DDI Management, BIO-SAFE, Alterra, Title Express, Chase and Bank of America.
RE/MAX Executive Realty has hosted and co-sponsored many local events that benefit charities in and around Miami. The real estate franchise has 14 professional real estate agents serving the area. Co-Owner Ellen Mitchel celebrates 10 years with the RE/MAX Network with the global real estate giant who is also tied to national charities like Children’s Miracle Network and Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
